Julia Newman is a filmmaker and writer who works in film, television, and theater. She is excited to share character-driven stories about the human condition in new and innovative ways.
Most recently, Julia produced the second staged reading of her original musical comedy, A Million Aisles Away, at the Santa Monica Playhouse in Santa Monica, CA. She continues to develop the script with her team and plans for more performances soon.
Julia's professional experience includes her work in Creative Development at MGM+ (Amazon MGM Studios) and production and development at Branded Pictures Entertainment in Los Angeles. Currently, Julia is freelancing as a creative producer and working in physical production. She received her BA in media arts production from Emerson College with a minor in economics.
Julia furthers her education through improv classes at The Groundlings and writing classes at UCB and the UCLA Extension School. Julia grew up in Short Hills, NJ, and lives in Venice, CA. You can find her surfing most Sunday mornings.
